About Tony_NYC
I'm an affable guy, I think, with a broad range of interests. I'm a mid-life jock; I like the gym, where I do cardio and lift. I'm starting to swim as well. If I hadn't become a lawyer, I would have gone to graduate school in English literature and taught. I still follow literary criticism, and I read poetry and fiction. I'm an enthusiastic theatergoer and operagoer. I hope and believe that people who speak to me find me attentive, available, and interested in who they really are. I like the fun stuff as well -- I've helped to write short performance pieces for my camp at Burning Man. I've attended Burning Man every year for the past four years, and I intend to keep going. I'm a loyal and committed friend. I've always liked getting naked. In boarding school, I went on camping trips with my friends, where we swam naked in the rivers that flowed through a nearby national forest. Even in the winter, we'd dare one another to strip and immerse ourselves -- briefly -- in icy streams fed by snow runoff from the Sierra Nevada. In the summer, we'd take horse camping trips, and go into the rivers naked on our horses. In college, I started getting naked at the beach, and in hot tubs with friends, and at the gym in extended bull sessions with buddies in the sauna and steam rooms. I've continued to do all those sorts of things in the many years since college. I almost always have my cam on in the chat rooms. Although I'm shy about posting a face pic in public here, I'm entirely willing to trade pics or just get on cam with people who have actually been in touch with me.

Who I'd like to meet
I'm here to meet interesting friendly people. I'm primarily interested in talking to people here in the hope that if we get along, we might talk on skype or by phone, and eventually meet face to face if logistics allow. I've already met a number of people from the site face to face; I'm much more interested in the bonding and friendship than random hookups, although I'm open to sexual connections. I'm in it for the gritty reality that comes through best when two people are actually, rather than virtually together.
My Interests
I live mostly in New York, and intermittently in San Francisco, and I love both places. I like Gunnison Beach in NJ when I'm in the east; and, among many others, Red Rock Beach, San Gregorio, Pirate's Cove, and of course Black's Beach when I'm in the west. I usually go to Harbin Hot Springs with a few friends for a couple of weekends a year, and we always have a great time. Fantastic hot pool, languid warm pool, invigorating cold plunge, standard swimming pool, sauna, and steam room; friendly naked people, yoga in the morning, skilled massage staff . . . . My kind of place, folks. I love the outdoors. I go hiking and camping frequently during my time in California. In my experience, the extent of the personal bonding that can happen with a group of friends in the country or the wilderness is extraordinary; it's much more difficult to get to know people that well and that quickly in the city. I'm a bookish sort of guy. I have wide-ranging interests in fiction, literary history and criticism, poetry, and drama. (If I hadn't become a lawyer, I would have taught English, I think.) If there is something you think I should be reading, please tell me.
Movies
Music
Broad tastes. I'll always love the old rock and roll I grew up with. I like classical music and opera, particularly Italian opera. Sondheim. Jazz.
My Heroes
I'm not sure I have or believe in heroes -- but the guy who came to mind was my late dad, for all his human shortcomings. He went to nudist resorts as a teenager with his parents a long time ago -- I have slightly embarrassing photographs of him with my grandparents as proof. His acceptance of his physical self and his comfort in his own skin are very much a part of the way I remember him.
