Generally the rules prohibit any peircings anywhere on the body except the ears and some specify only women, only in the lobe, how many are allowed and most of them prohibit labret or disk peircings. Cruises are different than clubs. The main reason is liability and medical coverage. The secondary reasons are either a) cruiseline policy b) presenting organization(s) policy and the social stigma of having a piercing. Small boats are not corporate owned but these choices really are up to the skipper or captain. The law of the sea gives him absolute authority over the passengers and crew. In the big boats, none of these cruises is run by the company that the boat sails under livery for... but is hosted by a third party who guarantee ticket sales and other revenue pay a deposit and take out supplemental insurance and organize ship shore activities with the crew. They're essentially also private functions because the booking is usually to a not for profit or members club. They manage boarding policy under the general rules of the ship.
