Showing off buttocks and indecent exposure (in USA)

I can't speak for Miami Beach, but love to hear of someone pushing the limits anywhere.

Here in Victoria (and most of Australia is similar) indecent exposure legislation only appears to reference genitalia and the anus, so a thong seems okay anywhere, anytime (not that I've seen examples away from beachside or poolside!).

I haven't really come across others wearing shorts that short that I can recall; perhaps the occasional glimpse above the gluteal fold. I haven't worn shorts out that were that short, either, as I tend to limit myself to loose unlined running shorts and the limiting factor there is peeking at the front, rather than the rear, at least until I bend over (although even then, my cheeks aren't the primary concern for exposure). A guy in shorts that show a little cheek would perhaps raise an eyebrow, but I think would be unlikely to attract further unwanted attention. Females would certainly get a pass, again with perhaps a raised eyebrow or two, depending on how extreme the cut is.

As for being tight-fitting or form-fitting, I also see no real problem. Once again, the girls ultimately seem to have more leeway, both with the front and the rear view (and I do recall an instance where a young lady ascending an escalator in front of me was wearing yoga pants with a 100% form fitting rear while out shopping with her Mum), but I wouldn't see any concerns. While I prefer the loose style in hot weather, I can also see the enjoyment of a tight fit, which I do prefer in my swimwear. I did once have a pair of female XS short-shorts that were super-stretchy and fitted perfectly. Unfortunately they were a terry-towelling fabric in red so a little too bold overall for me to wear out, but the same in a low-key fabric would be fabulous. The only thing I'd want then would be a PA so I could properly position myself permanently in a straight-up arrangement while being commando underneath.
