So many, so few
Thanks for the WNBR story Mackie . I have attended similar events
in Columbus, OH. The rides start about 10 PM and the after party
has been outside in a parking lot secured from public viewing ...
but I have had no problems walking around outside the fenced area,
still completely naked ... I wondered what the St Louis event would
be like because it is earlier in the day, so it would likely be
warmer and easier to see everything ;-) ... I totally agree
on the fun of riding totally naked on city streets with lots of
clothed people cheering the riders. It would still be fun, even
without the crowds ... but maybe not as much. I expect I would be
arrested and charged with any number of sex offences, if all I was
doing was riding naked on those same streets, any other day of the
year :-(
Update Oct. 30, 2016... Just checking to see why this group
is so quiet :-( ... I rode in the WNBR again, this
year -June 2016- but this year the rides started North of
town at about 9 PM. I was still light and very warm. Perfect
weather for a naked ride. It was about 10 miles long... all the way
across town to a south side park... and... with a police escort.
The start, finish and party locations were kept a secret
until the last few hours before the start ... the party location
was not disclosed until after the ride, to cut down on the party
crashers. The party was back in town, about 5 miles from the finish
of the ride... What surprised me was, how many of the naked riders
stayed naked while riding back to the party... and
didn't dress again until they left, early in the A.M. ... if then.
I heard from one of the organizers that there were no complaints
from the police 8-) So, I guess nobody had a problem
with the nudity ... at least, on that day... and night. ... About the party... No comment ;-)) except to say, it spilled out into the street which still had local traffic... I wonder what they were thinking, as they drove by... Next
year, I might just leave my clothes at home;-)
BTW... Is anyone here to read this?
In 2022 the naked bike rides were back. I expect to see more of them, again in 2023. Do a SEARCH for WNBR events in your part of the world. There are a LOT of them :-)) I hear that some event cities have BIG parties after their ride. 8-))
