Tips for first visit?

Hi, all, Ive never been to Gunnison, but would like to. What tips and info would you share with a first timer coming from Manhattan? Particularly interested in knowing what facilities and services are there (umbrellas? Lounge chairs? Food/beverage? Restrooms?), and what all we would need to pack and carry for a pleasant trip.

Assuming wed take the ferry over from NYC and wont have a car. Is it difficult to get to the beach from the ferry landing?

Finally, is the whole beach clothing optional, or just some areas?

There is usually a private vendor there that will rent you a beach chair and umbrella but it needs to be returned by 4pm when they close.
Not much for food or drink but usually 1 or 2 food trucks . Its carry in/carry out (no trash cans) so pack light. Enjoy
