Tangas
I have found that tanga swimsuits work best for me when I can't be totally naked.
They are much more comfortable for swimming than either micro-briefs or speedos and sufficiently acceptable for wearing in hotel pools when you can't have a sneaky naked swim.
I have worn tangas on textile beaches since 1990 without problems and since the early 2000's I have used tan-through tangas for swimming in hotel pools when I can't get away with nudity. (video)
They have been totally acceptable, even in a Holiday Inn pool busy with parents and children.
The advantage of the tan-through in these pools is that you can have a swim before breakfast and you wrap it in the hotel's pool towel while you are dressing after drying yourself the tanga is dry enough for you to put it in your pocket and go straight to breakfast without taking it all the way back to your room.
Sometimes I like a brief tanga, sometimes a more classic brief cut although still narrow across the hips, like 1"...2" sides.
This is a Koala suit that I've yet to wear on the beach, although I have a feeling that if I can get away with this I could get away with nude. Not sure how sheer fabrics are interpreted in the context of exposure laws, but if it's just a straight visual inspection, this suit may not pass.
